Don was a long standing and much loved and respected member of the Manchester Model Railway Society. His was an attitude of if there is something that needs doing then lets get it done and Don was always the first to get stuck in. There were many, many little jobs that Don did that nobody knew about and, Don, your presence is sorely missed. 

In his latter months he suffered from ill-health but he always remained cheerful when we visited him in hospital. After his passing the 'system' let him down very badly despite all our very best efforts to try to help, a great shame that such a great man may be remembered in this way.

Along with lots of other friends and Societies you were involved with, we will miss you.
